Strength

There are two things in life
That have absolute inevitably
And those two things
Are love and pain

The pain sinks deep
As it courses through our veins
And it strangles our heart
Constricting our soul with its reins

But the love is rejuvenating
It makes the pain worth it
Like oxygen on a fire
The soul is reignited

When matched with the inevitability of pain
Just remember
That dark days aren’t forever
And that there will always be light

Meet the tears with a smile
Because to feel means you’re living
When a scream comes, bring laughter
Because laughs will always be healing

For if one thing in this life is for certain and sure
There is great strength
And great beauty
In those who survive through the worst
